What does it mean?

Okay, so reoccurring dreams are normal, usually caused by something. Can anyone explain mine? I do not have the exact dream every time, more like the same theme. I have to use the bathroom and the only one available is an unpleasant public one. The reasons for the unpleasantness change. Most often it is just very dirty, sometimes the stall doors are made of glass, sometimes there are no doors at all, and other times everyone I have ever known is in the bathroom with me. I have discovered no pattern to these dreams, not a particular time of month or food that I ate that day. I always awake with the same sense of "YUCK!" and bewilderment as to the reason behind the dream. I cannot recall the first time I had one, but it has been happening once every couple of weeks for years. I would love to know why, and love for them to stop happening. Any ideas?

I don't particularly believe in 'dream books' and the likes. But, you could do a Google search for 'main' things in your dream...

I use to have a dream, repeatedly for years, every couple of months. I would be walking on a 4 inch wide wall, very high. A Rasta would be walking towards me, and there was nowhere for both of us to pass each other, one person has to jump off. Anyway, on my left side was green, plush grass, and on the right, dark and never ending drop!

Of course, I always end up falling on the dark side, and never land.

In 2000, I moved to Atlanta, from London. I've never had the dream since. Strange, no?

I wonder if yours is to do with, 'not wanting people to see what you do', and the fact that you hate mess, period. A guess, of course...

Your brother is the sleep guy, not me, but I'll offer this link to a post Jessica at Kerflop wrote this week. It doesn't offer any explanations but you might get a horrified giggle!

More than likely you have sleep apnea and you don't like public restrooms ALOT!

I remember having an odd bathroom dream about a public toilet where the pipes were made of clear PVC. It just working through unresolved anxiety.

Navilyn was being oppressed (how Monty Python). He moved, he no longer feels oppressed. Navilyn, you were YOU in the dream, but you were also the Rasta.

Epiphany Alone, thanks for that! It makes so much sense.

Since I've been in Atlanta, I've been less stressed, so, you're probably right...

I will have to think about what I might be hiding that I don't want others to see (not my normal m.o.) thanks for all the help!

Hmm. Well, you could change the dream.

Have you ever tried to pause it? And then say, "Oh, the toilets were just cleaned! How nice!" or "The toilt doors are there and solid with latches."

You could focus your angst some other way...but you'd probably in that dream where you're late for High School English class, wearing only your slip, and you realize you have a test you haven't prepaped for, and it's open book, but you only have your math book.

Oh, I'm probably NOT helping...

oh my gosh! i was watching house hunters last night and they did one in maryland...in the master bath of the third house, the people walked in and were a bit surprised to see that the glass stall shower was actually in open view in one of the corners of the bedroom...near the windows (that looked onto the woodsy property, but still)...they did end up choosing the house and said that that actually learned to like it (it was a pretty cool house)...maybe you'll learn to like dirty bathrooms or bathrooms w/out privacy? (j/k :)....
